Steve Budar received a certificate and award for his 30 years of volunteer service in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. It was presented by Kona Flotilla Commander Bob Lathrop during the monthly Kona Flotilla meeting on April 21.

Steve Budar received a certificate and award for his 30 years of volunteer service in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. It was presented by Kona Flotilla Commander Bob Lathrop during the monthly Kona Flotilla meeting on April 21.

Budar served as National Commodore from 2007-08 as well as Vice and Flotilla Commander, Vice and Division Captain in District 14 Division 2, and later in District 14, Division 1, District Commodore, National Area Commodore, Pacific Area and National Vice Commodore. He volunteered over 12,000 hours of his time engaged in recreational boating safety and security of the waterways while on maritime patrols, and offered administrative support to the Coast Guard.
